Hosting Copyrighted Video?
Discussion: What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? What is the name of your state? Georgia I just recently started a website and I want to host peoples video/audio/pictures on it, but i know that if that content ends up being copyrighted, i could get in trouble. If i put these terms and conditions on the site, would it be enough to stop me from getting in trouble?: "No media, including, but not limited to video, audio, and pictures, is property of this website unless otherwise stated. If any media featured on this site is copyrighted by someone else and they do not want it to be here, then they should contact us and we will take it down immediately. If we are never contacted, we will not be held responsible for the hosting of this copyrighted content." Is that enough or do I need more? I know that free video hosts like putfile( ) use that dmca (Digital Millennium Copyright Act) thing in case they end up hosting copyrighted video's, but i don't understand it or know if i can use it too. Any response to this would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Talk with a local copyright attorney about your business. Copyright © 2006 - 2008 www.todayquiz.com
