Answer:
I want to know, is it really truth, that the copyrights over after some years? Yes, all copyrights expire -- but not for a long time. Currently, copyrights last for the life or the creator + 70 years, or 120 years from date of publication if the creator is a company.
I.E., if there is old movie or song was in 1950, so can i copy it now and sell it on CDs, and i dont have any problems about the copyrights? Probably not. Most songs from the 1950's are still covered under copyrigh. The only way you can be sure a song is NOT covered by copyright is if the song was written prior to 1923. And even if the song is not covered by copyright, the "sound recording," that is, the recorded performance of the song, is very likely still covered by copyright unless, again, it was recorded prior to 1923.
If the song is no longer covered by copyright, but the recording still is, that means you could make your own recording of the song and sell it without having to get permission from anyone, but you couldn't use the already-recorded song without permission.
