permissions for movie script
Discussion: What is the name of your state? NC Twenty years ago a writer wrote a script that was sold to a studio and made into a movie. I am currently working on a script that takes place in the same 'universe' that the original took place. Who do I need to contact for permission to sell this? The script writer, or the studio which made the movie? Thanks in advance for any help you might provide! Answer: First, find out who the copyright holder is. (Stand by for lawyers who specialize in this kind of stuff.) Answer: What would be the best way to go about finding that? I've checked IMDB and several other sources, but only get a copyright date, no name. Answer: What would be the best way to go about finding that? Also, try contacting the studio that produced the movie, they should know who owns what rights to what. Answer: Thanks, that's a great start! Copyright © 2006 - 2008 www.todayquiz.com
