I am in the process of designing a site and script that will be 100% unique as of now in the concept, revenue base, etc.
Is there a way to protect this and only allow copies of the site by licensing? I don't want a bunch of copy cat sites popping up everywhere that will take away my revenue after I have done all of the work in coming up with this concept and paying for a programmer to design a script to make it work and come into existance. I have not launched it yet, just for this reason.
Any advice will be appreciated.

Scott If the concept is "inventive" enough to be patentable, you could potentially patent your site. You can copyright the script, of course, and, if you are doing this for a business, eventually obtain trademark rights to the "look and feel." But there is no way to simply obtain blanket protection for an idea.
