Trademark sale

Discussion:
What is the name of your state? North Carolina
I sold the assets of my business two years ago, but I have not yet legally dissolved the company, a C-corp. Included in those assets was a trademark, and it is listed in the bill of sale, but I never filed anything legal to show the transfer of ownership for the trademark. I now want to dissolve the corporation, but I want to make sure that the other company has full legal ownership of the trademark and the ability to renew it when necessary. What do I need to do?

If it's a federally-registered mark, then start here:
If it's a state mark, contact your secretary of state's office to assign the trademark to the buyer.
If it's just a coomon-law mark, then merely continuing on with the business is sufficient.
