I am starting a small home business of creating slide shows that would use music that I purchased online as well as personal cd's. How do I purchase the copyright?
The slide shows would only be reproduced up to 5 times, not a large volume.

sandphappy You don't purchase a copyright, to purchase a license to use the copyright. You'll need two licenses for each piece of music you want to use. To purchase licenses for the songs themselves (the "musical work"), contact the Harry Fox Agency (a clearinghouse for these licenses). For the licenses for the recorded version of the song (the "sound recording") you will have to contact the record label and negotiate for a license.
