STATE: NORTH CAROLINA
I created recently and I have already had pressure from my university... "UNC-Wilmington" ( ) to shut the site down. I have not used any of their logos and I have a disclaimer at the bottom of every page that the site is not associated with the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
I have already been called to a meeting with the Dean of Students and she said that I have no rights to use the name "UNCW" on the website or even "Seahawk" (the school mascot) on the forums.
What are my real rights???

Answer:
The school seems to be far offbase, but the Dean has the ability to threaten, and/or apply life or death power over his or her students, regardless of the law.
Seek out help from a law school in your state.
