publicity release
Discussion: What is the name of your state? Texas My daughter won a contest for a magazine by sending in a picture. They now want to take her a photograph her for their magazine. They have sent me several release forms about this. 1.)Copyright Assignment...I understand this as they want the copyright to the original photo I sent in 2.)Publicity release...This one is the BIG one. it states that "I give Sponsors, reps., etc. the absolute right and permission to copyright and publish my entry, name, hometown, voice, likeness, photograph and statements regarding this promotion for media editorial, art, public relations, promotion, advertising, trade or other purpose without notice to me and without further compensation. My question is it says "I" this and "I" that, however the picture is of my daughter...so is this meaning her? Also does this mean that they can use her photographs in this promotion only or from now on if they feel like it? I don't know how to take this..it is probably nothing however I don't want to sign something I will regret later. HELP!!! Answer: "I" means your daughter, but you have to sign for her on her behalf because she is too young to legally agree to this. They get to use her information exactly how they say they will "for media editorial, art, public relations, promotion, advertising, trade or other purpose". So, yes, they can use it for as long as they want, without compensation to you or your daughter. They are limited to the information you submited - "entry, name, hometown, voice, likeness, photograph and statements regarding this promotion" Copyright © 2006 - 2009 www.todayquiz.com
