Social Network Photo Infringement
Discussion: What is the name of your state? Michigan I've searched for an answer to this question and cannot find an answer. I'm a website operator of a social networking site. We're considering allowing our members to post photographs of their favorite bands, , celebrities or athletes on our website. We will, of course, warn members to only post photographs that they themselves have taken, and we will move quickly to remove offending photographs if we are alerted of copyright infringement by a copyright holder. My question is: If we are alerted by a copyright holder that a photo on our website infringes on their copyright, are we legally in the clear if we remove the offending photograph, or do we still stand the chance of being sued and losing a copyright infringement lawsuit, even though we have removed the offending photograph. Answer: You can still be sued. In fact, the copyright holder is not required to even give a notice/warning before suing you. Copyright © 2006 - 2009 www.todayquiz.com
