Are Internet links that are listed on a web site subject to copyright law just like all the other stuff on it? These links are also found on other web sites and in search engines.

Answer:
The URL address is copyright protected. And if someone uses an image they own as a link to their site, it too is copyright protected. The Free Advice voice balloons at the top of this page are copyright protected, no one else may use them as a link to this site or another site without permission. You will have to have permission to use an image from a site if you wish to add a link to that site at your own site. You can add links to any site without permission though, just don't use their image for the link.
