Some Internet sites sell OEM software for a fraction of the cost of retail boxed software. Is it legal to purchase and install the OEM software? What are the ins and outs of the OEM law? Any links or advice is greatly appreciated.
Answer:
It depends on the company whose software you're buying, they may have policies regarding the purchase of OEM software. Microsoft for example DOES NOT approve of purchasing OEM software unless it comes with a new computer only. Check with the software manufacturers.
