Stolen Identity?!
Discussion: I have no idea where to begin with this, perhaps one of you kind folks can give me a hand...(I live in CA) I worked as a temp for a large national bank, in the appraisal department. I was assigned an ID on their Lotus notes system. Well, my assignment was ended, but since I've left, they have not terminated my lotus notes account and are letting other temporary employees use this ID which is MY NAME, without my permission. Do I have any legal reprocussions to this? I do not feel that this bank should be allowed to conduct business with an email account that has MY name on it when I am no longer working there. (I do realize my opinion has no effect on the law being what it is) Can anyone help me out on this one? PS. I know for a fact that when a permanent employee leaves, their Lotus Notes account is terminated. Answer: The large national bank owns the email account and can do what it wants with it. Unless your name is copyrighted or is trademarked, there is little you can do. Have you attempted to contact the person in charge and see if there is something they can do? If they choose to do nothing, you are SOL. Copyright © 2006 - 2009 www.todayquiz.com
