What is the name of your state? Ohio
We recently kicked out a band member due to conflicting interests. He now wants paid royalties for 1 song he co-wrote with the band that was published on a CD. We contacted our attorney and have agreed on a figure to pay him. Although, we told this ex-member that he had to sign a release/waiver to waive all legal rights he thinks he has with the band or any of the music.
The band is up and coming and has a very good chance of getting signed soon so we want to make sure that he cannot come back later on and try to sue for any more royalties or anything else related to the band and/or members.
I need a legal document (release) for him to sign. Any advice as to what should be stated in it? Any place I can download one for free?
