Hi I hope someone can help me out with this I recieved a court order a civil suit from coco chanel , stating that I had viloted copyrigt infringement, and used unlawful advertising.
This is my case around august I went to a purse party and thought it would be a great idea to do this on the internet so I searched, and found many websites offering replica bags. I had no idea that there was anything wrong with this , in fact there tons of stores in china town that sell replicas, I found one particular vendor who had a photo album I copied her pictures and opend my own photo album and proceeded by posting on the internet offering the bags. I never got to sell anything b/c the person i ordered from never delivered the bags to me and never answered any of my calls or emails so basically I was scammed.. The worst part about all this is that I recieved a court order with 20 days to respond from chanel and I dont know what to do , they printed pictues of every item that i had in my photo album that pertained to chanel and request there lawyer fees, and 1 million dollars for each type of chanel product offered as well as every add i ever posted on the internet. Now I never placed prices on the album and I never got to sell anything what can I do ? Usally I've heard that a cease and desist letter is sent but I did not get this at all. What can I do now?

Hi I appreciate all of you telling me to get a lawyer, I will go see a lawyer tomorrow I have an appointment but given my situation I really cannot afford a lawyer , I am only a college student and my parents cannot afford one either. Can anyone at least give me there opinion??

Hi everyone I just got back from the lawyers... boy am I relieved, all I have to do is send a form in saying I was not aware that I was infringing any copyright laws and that I will shut down album etc.. and will refrain from ever doing this again!!!! its nice to breath again!!! I'm posting this so if anyone else is in a similar situation, they dont take it upon themselves to contact the suing partysattorney this was worth the 250.00 the lawyer charged!!!! If I would have contacted there lawyers instead I might not have been able to do this and would have been held responsible for there attorney fees etc..
