What is the name of your state? texas. a website offering free logos helped in creating a logo for a business/ministry for me. i gave the idea of what i wanted and they did it for me .can i copyright this logo if i am not the one who actually created it. can they come back and say its their creation?

Maybe. You should contact them and get the ownership of the copyright squared away before you start spending money (or making money) using the work.
If you own the copyright, you can register the copyright, even though you did not technically create it.
