Can I use a quote?
Discussion: What is the name of your state? North Carolina I have a quote praising my work (graphics), I would like to use the quote, both on my web site and in a printed mailer. The quote was orignally in an email forwarded to me. The quoter is no longer with the company, I'm not sure how I might find him. Can I use the quote without permission?? THANKS! THANKS! **A: you need to ask the company since you will be using the name of the company. Answer: With all respect to HG, I disagree. If the email came from the employee as a representative of his former employer, you can use it as it is. It would make no difference whether he was still employed there or not. "Bob Smith with ABC Corporation, said...... " or "Bob Smith said**************.. " However, if you were going to simply use the name of the employer, you need to get their permission for the quote: "ABC Corporation said************** " Needless to say, keep the ORIGINAL email with its full header information.
