signing a recording contract
Discussion: What is the name of your state? texas I have recently been offered a deal with a record company. I am very excited, but don't want to make any harsh mistakes by just signing away and hoping for the best. Does anyone here know of a place where I might be able to get some information to tell me whether this is a good contract or not? It is non-exclusive, which means I will still retain the rights to all my music 100% and will still be able to deal with other companies if I would like to (as long as I notify this label). It seems all good, but I just want to be sure..... any help would be appreciated. straydog Answer: Listen, any number of people could tell you any number of different things but spending $200 now to have an attorney read your contract and explain it in entirity to you is worth the price of any future problems.
