Total site duplicated - What would you recommend.
Discussion: Gilbert, Arizona - My site was entirely duplicated by - I contacted the owner regarding this and no changes have been made in several days, however the owner has received my messages. What would you guys recommend to get this person to remove the content? Just get a letter sent from a lawyer via certified mail? Thanks Joel McLaughlin Answer: You could send a letter, but what if the other party doesn't respond? What then? Are you willing to sue them for copyright infringement? Unless you've registered a copyright in your site, or have trademarked the "look and feel" of your site as trade dress, you'll probably have a tough time, because you'll need to prove how you've been damaged -- and unless you've been damaged a lot, and the other guy has significant assets, it'll be tough to get a lawyer interested. Start with a nastygram to the other guy, and see what happens -- but beyond that, you either need to sue 'em, or forget about it. Well, I guess you could try other, more persuasive methods, but those are your only LEGAL options... Copyright © 2006 - 2009 www.todayquiz.com
