I have a web site that people have contributed stories and articles and media for public viewing. Do I need a release from each person to publish a book using their information?

Do you have a terms of service or other document that spells out what rights are retained and what rights are given up by authors when they post to your board? Are the postings created by the authors who post, or are they derived from other sources?
