Hi everyone,
I took some photos in Kauai Island of beautiful ladies from a public (not a private area) demonstration of Hula. I would like to know if I can publish copyright, and resale my pictures without permission of this people?

In general, yes.
However, here's the tricky part -- if you create an "ad" (either on the web, or through any other medium) and use one of the photos of the ladies as an example of your work (on the face of the ad), or otherwise use one or more of the pictures AS your ad, then you are treading on thin ice, because no matter where or when a picture is taken, a person ALWAYS has the right to control the commercial exploitation of their likeness. So, selling the pictures taken in public is okay (not that people won't complain anyway, but it is generaly legal), but using those pictures in advertising can get you into trouble.
It's like the "Girls Gone Wild" stuff you see advertised -- these guys can make the tapes of women taking their tops off in public at MaArdi Gras or whereever, and then sell those tapes -- but when they took one picture and threw it up on a billboard, that girl complained, and it cost GGW like $5 million or thereabouts, if I remember correctly.
Just make sure that you were actually in a "public" vantage point when you took the pictures -- if you had to pay an entrance fee to see the show, it's probably not a public vantage point.
