Photographer's DVD product

Discussion:
What is the name of your state? TN

I am beginning to work with a photographer who wants to sell "movies" of her images she has taken on shoots. She offering for the photos of these clients to be composed in a movie, along with video footage I shoot. The problem is the music. What exactly are the guideline, procedures, etc. for using copyrighted music for the background, so the movie won't be silent. The movies are packaged into a DVD which she sells for a considerate amount of money.
Much thanks.
Answer:
In order to republish the music, you will need to obtain licenses for the sound recordings from BMI and/or ASCAP (for most music) or Muzak (for Muzak), and licenses for the underlying musical works from the Harry Fox Agency.
Your other alternative is to write and perform your own music, or have someone to record public domain music (like classical works or the like).
