Trademark refused - descriptive only

Discussion:
What is the name of your state? New York
We are applying for trademark registration and the examining atty refused my application because the mark is merely descriptive of the product. It was suggested that for descriptive marks, you can have it registered in the Supplemental Register.
Our goods are tubes that are specialty products. Thus, the atty is saying that the mark is merely descriptive.
Is there a way in having it successfully registered in the Principal Register?
If I just make the identification of the goods to be more specific, will this help? Or should I do something else?
Thanks.

You will need to find some way to "traverse" the examiner's rejection, by arguing that the mark is not merely descriptive, or something like that. If you realy want to get onto the principal register, maybe you should consider hiring an attorney to prosecute the application for you.
