Visitor visa related
Discussion: Visitor visa related I have heard that sometimes a visa is declined when someone tells the consular that he/she is going to US because his/her/their son/daughter is expecting a baby and they need their help. has any one faced this situation? What is the best truthfull answer?? Answer: No Title Its not true...My in-laws just got B2 visa. I had written that "we are expecting a baby" in the invitation letter. And they would be of great help to my wife. They got the visa in Mumbai. akaps Answer: it depends i heard that people who say that they are expecting baby got their visa rejected for their parents, coz ins people may think you are bringing payless nanny from your place. you could say \'i would like to invite them to visit US\'.that\'s what we said for my mother and brought her here, we got her extended for 6 months too. Answer: It depends Sometimes it is difficult to really interpret the thought process or the logic that the Consulate uses to issue or reject a VISA. The most strong point seems to be to see if the person being granted a VISA will return in a timely manner and not overstay. To determine this they tend to see as to how much ties or things are at stake in India that will force you to return. So I guess whatever you state in the letter may not matter as long as the consulate feels that the person will definitly return. I personally don\'t feel comfortable about lying, but that\'s me. Your circumstances maybe different. Answer: The rule is.... do not provide any more inoformation than necessary. The purpose your parents visit is to meet you (the family) and spend some time with you. This is reasonable and sufficient reason for them to apply for a visa or if asked by the consular officer. Why volunteer any other information than that ??? No body asked you for it...open you mouth and get into trouble...silence is golden. My above argument is pertinent to only the "purpose of the visit". However, you should be ready to provide enough and compelling reasons / documentation for other criteria - e.g that you do intend to return etc. Answer: Good reason fro my mother\'s visa extention by 6 months Hi GPRP, Can you tell me what type of reason you gave for your mother for extention? My mother is taking care of my baby and also my brother is graduating in early fall\'2002. I don\'t know which one is a better reason for INS? Also She has some documents on owning a home in India.. Do I have to send documents? Answer: I agrre I agree with this argument. My mom\'s visa got rejected 5 times since we gave a letter saying that I need help for my delivery. When we applied for my dad with no reasons, they give visa for him. He came and went back in time. Then we applied for my mom with my dad. Then they gave visa for both of them. So, my strong advice is that not to provide any more information than necessary.
