B2 visa with 6 weeks annotation entry

Discussion:
B2 visa with 6 weeks annotation entry
Hi, My aunt recently got a visitor visa and in the annotation field of the visa it states that "6 weeks vacation". She will be coming to US next month. I was wondering if she could stay in the US a little longer (say 4 months).
1) I don't know if POE officer will look at the annotation field and will only give I-94 validity for 6 weeks or they have no correlation?
2) What should be her return ticket dates? (6 weeks from initial date or 4 months after) Her visa is granted upto September but annotaion says only 6 weeks?
3) If she is asked at the POE about her lengh of stay what should be her answer?
4) Her last name in the visa is mispelled? Actually her name was misspelled on the passport initialy but she went to passport office and they noted a correction on the passport but the visa office ignored/missed it? Can this create any issue when she lands here or she should go to the consulate again to get the spelling corrected before travelling to US?
Thanks a lot for replies.
Arun
Answer:
Arun,
(1) The annotation by the State department is there for a reason. To grab the attention of the CBP inspector at the POE. When he/she scans the visa, notes from the issuing consulate may pop up. That may trigger additional questions.
(2) 6 weeks in my opinion
(3) Whatever the truth is. If she wants to stay 4 months, then she should say 4 months.
(4) I would get the visa corrected before flying to the US.
