i have 5 years multiple visa. I am out of USA from last week. I want to come back after one week. Do i have to show anything to immigration department of USA or is there any particular rule that i have to stay out for fix time once i am out etc..
pls let me know about this issue.

What is the purpose of your 2nd visit? How long did you stay in the U.S during your 1st visit?
Answer:
I was given 6mnths visa from immigration (airport) then i extended another 6mnths. So, it was extended till 31st march.
I went away from USA on 22nd March.
I have little granddaughter, daughter and son in law. I am missing my granddaughter so much. So i want to go back.
I am curious of what kind of questions they might ask and is it ok to go back with in few days?

Well you have already extended the stay by 6 months. No visitor can spend more than 6 months in the U.S. Staying for more than 6 months amounts to living in the U.S.
If you are engaging in baby-sitting, that's illegal. If you come back in a week after staying for a year then most likely your visa will be cancelled and you will be sent back. Visiting too often and staying for long periods of time on Visitor's visa is ABUSE of visa privlege. When you went for the interview you said that you are going there for a short visit BUT instead you have already stayed for a year, and hence you have betrayed the Trust of the VO who issued you a visa. I think you should atleast wait for 1 or 2 years before your next visit.
Every grandparent would like to stay with their grand children, but unfortunately these are some of the things that you will have to compromise when sons/daughters leave their home country and venture out in seek of better life / money.
And lastly the greatest help you can do so that other grandparents can get their visas is to be TRUE to your words that you said at the Consulate when you went for the visa interview. Every grandparent can atleast get a chance to enjoy time with their sons/daughters/grand children.
I am extremely sorry if my response has been rude, but these are somethings that people need to be educated about. Your daughter/son-in-law should have educated you about this.

when i was taking visa i told them that i am going to visit granddaughter and daughter's family for 6 months. I think thats the reason they gave me multiple visa. Since i like to stay more idid extended my visa. Its legal rule that you can extend visa. If you can not satisfy immigration officer then they won't extend but in my case they did.
And my grandaughter has babysitter. The thing is i missed them. that's it. Since i have visa i want to go. I don't like to stay here.
So i want to know honest answer. I haven betrayed and did illigal things as you have mentioned.

Sorry to hear that you're missing your grandchild. But you have to learn to be strong and live without seeing him/her everyday. All grand parents wants to spend time with their grandchildren. Unfortunately that is not always possible. It is a fact of life that you cannot always get everything you want.
You say that during the visa interview you told the Visa Officer that you wanted "to visit" your daughter's family for six months. Well, you have not only "visited" them you have actually "lived with" them for a year. You cannot seriously expect the INS to be more generous than that.
The fact is that you have a TOURIST/VISITOR visa. But by staying in the US for 1 year you have proved that your intention is not to be a tourist/visitor. You are now intent on becoming a permanent resident and the INS does not want you to be that.
If you return in a week you will prove that you are living for a longer time in the US than you are living in your home country.
You will be asked very tough questions as to what the purpose of your visit is and what it was the last time.
If you come back in such a short interval the Immigration Officer at the Point of Entry is definitely going to believe that you are doing some kind of illegal job in the US. They will believe that you just took one week's leave from your illegal job and will go back to work as soon as you enter the country.
They will not believe you if you say that you're not doing any thing illegal. And they will not accept it if you say that you are missing your grandchild/daughter.
There is a possibility that they may not permit you to enter the country and may send you back at once. Your 10 year visa may also be cancelled. Or if you are allowed to enter then it may be for a very short duration visit - like 2 weeks, 1 month or 6 weeks.
If you are interested in living with your grandchild permanently you should consider filing for an immigrant visa instead of abusing a tourist visa.

If you say 6 months you SHOULD ONLY STAY FOR 6 months, you stayed for a year. What reasons did you give for your extension?
Fine come back in a week and give the the same reason at the POE" I want to spend more time with my grand-daughter, bcos that is the HONEST answer. If you already have a HONEST answer what more are you asking for?

A visitor should spend more time in his/her country of residence than the time spent in the U.S. If you spend 6 months in the U.S it is recommended that you spend atleast 8 months -1 year in your home country before making your next trip to the U.S again. You can ask your daughter to make a trip to your place in this period if you miss your grandchild soo much.

We understand your feelings. But think about this- at least you spent a year (6 months more than you told the VO) with your children and grand children. My parents have been rejected a visa 4 times before- sorry if I sound rude but its because of people who extend their stay and like others said on this forum, abuse the 6 months visa, other parents and grand parents suffer.
My parents are honest and they want to come for just 2 months as my dad is working- but because people abuse the visitor visa, VOs get suspicious. If you really had a medical or emergency reason - you could have extended your visa.
Your other option is if your children are citizens, then you can apply for an immigrant visa and that way you can stay here longer.
